Following a 4-game series sweep of Sewanee, Rhodes swept the SCAC Player of the Week honors, with junior Cindy Bitters earning PItcher of the Week and junior shortstop Allison Conn being named Offensive Player of the Week.
Conn hit .637 (7-for-11) on the weekend with a .750 on base percentage, 5 RBI and 4 runs scored to lead Rhodes to a 4-game sweep of Sewanee. Conn was perfect in game one on both Saturday and Sunday, going 3 for 3 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs in Saturday first game, then following up in game 1 on Sunday with a 2 for 2 performance in which she collected 2 more RBI and scored another run.
Conn is currently riding a 24-game hitting streak, dating back to
March 11, which is the longest hitting streak in Rhodes history
and the second longest in SCAC history, behind the 28-game
hitting streak of Trinity's Jamie Williams in 2008. Conn leads the
Lynx with a .415 batting average and a career-best 25 RBI.
Bitters notched two victories in the circle this weekend, tossing
her second no-hitter of the season against Sewanee on
Saturday. Bitters struck out six and walked one in five innings of
work as the Lynx won 18-0. On Sunday, she allowed just two
hits and again fanned six Tigers, as the Lynx won 17-0.
For the week, Bitters was 2-0, and allowed just two hits and no
runs in 10 innings of work. She is 4-0 on the season, with two
no-hitters, three shutouts, and 42 strikeouts in 32 1/3 innings
