The Rhodes Lynx snuck out a close one Friday, February 3rd against Oglethorpe University 65 to 62. Both teams offense sputtered in the second half, but a game winning three point basket with 4.2 seconds remaining by Sophomore
Johnny Dunavant gave the Lynx the victory. Dunavant finished the night with 12 points, Hartwell chipped in 12 as well, while Junior
Andrew Galow led the Lynx with 17 points.

Senior forward
Sharwil Bell (Memphis, TN) led a balanced Lynx scoring attack with 14 points, as the Lynx cruised to a 73-47 home SCAC win over Oglethorpe, on Friday February 3rd, at Mallory Gymnasium. Rhodes jumped out to an early 21-6 first half lead and never looked back.

Sharwil Bell was named to the Capital One Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Bell, a native of Memphis, Tenn., maintains a 3.94 Grade Point Average (GPA) as a biology major, was named to the District V first-team.

The opening weekend of the Rhodes College baseball season has been cancelled due to inclement weather in Pineville, LA. The Lynx will now open the 2012 season this coming Tuesday with at home against LeMoyne-Owen College. First pitch is set for 2:00.
