Head Coach
Andy Marcinko announced that the season opening Rhodes Classic Soccer Tournament will be renamed The Greg Volgas Memorial Soccer Tournament in honor of former Rhodes Soccer standout Greg Volgas of the Class of 1981 who passed away last summer after a battle with cancer.
On Saturday, October 23, a group of alumni, friends and family (above photo) gathered to honor the memory of Greg Volgas, Class of 1981. Greg was an All College Athletic Conference (CAC) goalie for the Lynx and starting goalkeeper during the 1977-80 seasons when the Lynx won two CAC soccer titles. Greg was also the first Rhodes player to play professional soccer, playing for the Milwaukee Wave of the American Indoor Soccer Association (AISA) in the 1985-86 season.
