Ellison Sherrill

Sherrill took over as the program's third head coach in September of 2023. 

In her first two years at the helm, the Lynx appeared in the Southern Athletic Association Championship twice, winning the Championship in 2024. After the SAA title, the team made it to the second round of NCAA's defeating Transylvania and falling to #7 Washington and Lee. Sherrill coached two-time SAA Defensive Player of the year, Bari Pinkett, and SAA Offensive Player of the Year, Avery Burke (2024). In 2024, Sherrill's squad included 3 First Team, 5 Second Team and 2 Honorable Mention All Conference members. The following year, Sherrill coached 3 First Team, 2 Second Team and 2 Honorable Mention. 

Prior to taking over the lacrosse program at Rhodes, Sherrill spent 4 years at Dickinson College, leading the defensive unit. Dickinson competed in the highly regarded Centennial Conference against some of the nation's top teams. Sherrill coached 3 2021 IWLCA All-Metro Region, 3 2022 All-Centennial players, 3 2023 All-Centennial and 2 All-Metro Region players at Dickinson.
 
Prior to joining the Dickinson staff in 2019, Sherrill was an assistant at Babson College for two years. She helped lead the Beavers to a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship in 2018, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Babson made a repeat appearance in the NEWMAC Championship in 2019. During her two years at Babson, the Beavers received Defensive Player of the Year honors in both 2018 and 2019, adding Offensive Player of the Year in 2019. Seven players would receive All-Region honors while Lexi Lenaghan was named an All-American during Sherrill's tenure.

A 2017 graduate of Hamilton College, Sherrill was a four-year defender on the Continentals' women's lacrosse team. Competing in the NESCAC conference, Hamilton received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament twice in Sherrill's time.

She graduated with honors from Hamilton, earning a B.A. in Art with a minor in educational studies. She went on to earn a M.A.T. in Education from Tufts University in 2019.

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Sherrill has coached HS club lacrosse for Queen City Stars (Now Ultimate CLT), Central Mass, and 3D New England. Sherrill and her staff started a HS open club team, called 901 Elite, as the pinnacle lacrosse recruiting experience for the best of Memphis in the summer of 2025.
