ATLANTA, Ga. - For the season time this season, junior defender
Kelsey Sweeney was named Southern Athletic Association Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her outstanding performance this past weekend.
Sweeney was huge for the Lynx this past weekend, leading the team to a 2-0 record with wins over Oglethorpe and Berry College. Sweeney was huge on the defensive end, leading a dominant Rhodes effort defensively in a pair of SAA shutouts.
In a 7-0 win over Oglethorpe, Sweeney finished with a hat trick and was key to the Lynx allowing no shots in the match. Against Berry, who came into the matchup as a top team in SAA, Sweeney and the defense was outstanding in preserving a 1-0 win.
Sweeney and the Lynx return home on Saturday for their home finale against Millsaps College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
