Lynx Close Regular Season with Wins Over Berry, Hendrix

    The Rhodes College Women's Swim Team closed out it's 2011-2012 Regular Season with huge wins over Berry and Hendrix, defeating Berry 80-41 and Hendrix 91-30.  The Lynx were led by several standout performers including Kelsey Wilson, who won the 50 in a time of 25.69, the 100 in a time of 55.44, and the 500 in a time of 5:23.53, Susanna Kirby, who won the the 200 Free in a time of 2:03.82, and Hannah Emery, who won the 200 Fly in a time of 2:20.20.  
    Elizabeth Medved claimed first in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:12.98, and Abby May claimed the first individual victory of her career with her win in the 100 Fly in a time of 1:05.78.  The time May turned in was also her best of the season.  Freshman Olivia Knauss turned in season best times in every event she swam, going 26.78 in the 50, 58.60 in the 100, and turning in a 26.08 split in the 200 Free Relay. 
    Perhaps the most exciting race of the meet came in the final 200 Free Relay, where senior Gianna Salvucci was able to split a 25.89 to hold off the charging Berry squad, and cap her final regular season meet with a victory.  
    The Lynx return to action February 15-18 at the SCAC Championships in Rockwall, TX, where they will look to maintain this momentum in a champioship setting.  With several swimmers and relays ranked in the top 3, the Lynx are sure to put on a show.
