RHODES WOMEN FINISH #4 IN THE SCAC CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT

The women finished #4 in the SCAC Conference Tournament.  Seeded #4 in the tournament, the women defended their seeding by defeating Colorado College 8-1 in the first round.  Sweeping the doubles, the women continued strong play in singles, winning all but one position.  In the second round, the women faced the #1 seed, DePauw, Anna Beth Sanford pulled the upset of the day, by defeating DePauw's number #1.  DePauw swept all the doubles and #2-#6 in singles for a 8-1 score.  Playing Trinity for the #3 place in the tournament the women had their only win at #1 doubles with the team of Anna Beth Sanford and Alice Havner winning 9-8 over Budinsky/Jamison from Trinity.
