Austin College withstood a late Lynx rally, to defeat Rhodes 75-66 in a SCAC women's basketball game played in Sherman, TX on January 15th.
Becca Clarin led all Lynx scorers with 14 points, connecting on 4 of 7 three point field goals.
Sharwil Bell recorded her fourth double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. For the game all 5 Lynx starters scored in double figures. Rhodes trailed 34-32 at half, but came out strong to start the 2nd half, tying the score at 41-41 with 16:02 to play.
The Kangaroos went on a 15-2 run to take a 56-43 lead with just under 12 minutes to play. However, the Lynx went on a 23-15 run to cut the Austin College lead to 71-66 with 45 seconds to play. Austin made their next four free throws to seal the win.
Rhodes falls to 9-6 on the season and will face Colorado College on Sunday, January 17th.
