"The 76, 83, 83 and 88 posted by our top four players in the final round is very encouraging," said Coach Clary. "The wind was blowing, the greens were hard and fast, and we played the final 6 holes in intermittent hard rain. We'll get better in the next 2-4 weeks as we get more practice in."
"Allie really played well on Sunday. She's got a great temperament on the course and strikes the ball well. Her final round 76 was the 3rd best round (out of 118 players) on Sunday."
Two-time NCAA qualifier
Stephanie Mingos posted a 167 (84-83). "Stephanie's swing is close to where it was at a year ago and she's making progress with her back rehabilitation. With continued rehab, more practice and more competition, she'll have her game in order when go to Florida in two weeks."
Christy Siegel improved 18 strokes from Saturday to Sunday to shoot 83 in the final round. "Christy has so much potential. We just have to get her working harder on her game," said Coach Clary.
Maddie Callis shot 88 (44-44) in the final round, which considering she was playing her 2nd competitive 18 hole round in 16 months, the score was really, really good. "If we can get Nicole, Maddie and Christy to consistently post scores in the 80-85 range, we're going to make some noise in late April at the SCAC tournament."
