Stephanie Mingos shot an even par 72 (36-36) and is tied for lead after the first round of the NCAA Division III Golf Championship being played on the Wanamaker course at PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Her round included three birdies. “Stephanie really managed the golf course well today. Rhodes men’s golf coach Bill Cochran worked with Stephanie during her practice round on course management, chipping and reading greens. She really made some great decisions on club selection and her chipping and putting was outstanding,” said Lynx head coach Mike Clary.

In the gallery today was Stephanie’s Dad, Steve, and Kristina, her sister, Coach Bill Cochran, as well as Doug Gordon, Rhodes #1 men’s golfer. “It was fun having a good gallery for the round. Steph played with Kimberly Eaton from Wellesley and Emily Bachert  from Centre. Emily and Kimberly, and their coaches, Sherry Makerney and Bruce Brown, were great playing and coaching partners. Hopefully Emily, Kimberly and Stephanie will play well in the 2nd round too,” said Coach Clary.
