How did you decide Rhodes to attend Rhodes?
After traveling to 15 schools on the east coast, I decided to visit Rhodes two weeks before the application deadline. Unlike many of the schools that I visited, Rhodes seemed to care more about the students than just the beauty of the campus.
What kind of experience did you have studying abroad?
I participated in a academic program in Belgium through the Rhodes business department. Professor Planchon provided the opportunity for business/economics majors to communicate with marketing strategists in the international luxury goods industry. The curriculum took us to the Antwerp diamond exchange and French champagne houses.
How has being a member of the golf team enhanced your college experience?
Golf provides the ability to focus on something that does not always fall into my normal rushed routine. The Rhodes golf program also provides a community beyond Rhodes. In addition to my teammates and their families, I know that I will graduate with well-established friendships with our incredible supportive alumni.
You will be graduating in May, 2010. Where will you be working this summer and what are your plans for next year? I have been working in corporate tax for First Tennessee Bank since last March, and this summer, I will be working in a tax and audit internship program with Dixon Hughes. For next year, I am applying to accounting masters programs in Memphis and Birmingham.
