Allie Bankart carded an 82 and stands three strokes off the lead in the Santa Rosa Beach Classic being hosted by Huntingdon College in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Mirel Brackin from Millsaps is the first round leader with a 79.
"The Santa Rosa Beach Golf Course is one of the tougher courses we'll play all year. If you hit an errant shot, you are severely penalized, " said Mike Clary, Rhodes head golf coach. "The course is tight and the wind blows, so it's great experience for our team to play a very challenging course."
Christy Siegel shot 41-47=88. "Christy really hit the ball well, but had two tough holes on the back nine. I look for Christy to shoot in the low 80's in the 2nd round, " said Coach Clary.
Other Rhodes scores: Nicole Jones (54-44=98), Maddie Callis (52-51=103)
