Rhodes Men's Swimming Falls to Hendrix

The Rhodes Swim team traveled to Little Rock, AR this past weekend to compete in their second meet of the season against UALR and Hendrix College.

The Lynx opened the meet with two relay victories. The women's 200 medley relay of Kristen Griffin, Sallye Hartman, Hannah Emery, and Kim Green improved from the last meet, placing first and finishing in a time of 1:54.98. The men's 200 medley of Joel Berger, Garrett Rhodes, Alex Lonnecker, and Gavin Franks also touched out Hendrix to claim first in a time of 1:53.20.

Pieter Smith, Drew Wagstaff, and Sallye Hartman won both of their individual events, posting considerable times and earning critical points for the Lynx. Freshman Hannah Emery took first place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:18.47 and swam a lifetime best in the 500 free touching in a time of 5:27.41. Sprinter Jarrett Tate won the 50 freestyle by over two seconds with a time of 21.99. The men's 200 freestyle relay of Jarrett Tate, Pieter Smith, Alex Herran, and Drew Wagstaff closed out the meet with a win in a time of 1:34.12.

Although this meet was used as an opportunity for the team to swim off-events, the Lynx proved to be competitors with the women's team beating Hendrix by two points, but falling to UALR while the men's team was overcome by Hendrix by only six points.
