Led by a career best 437 yards passing performance by Senior Quarterback Brett Stoots(Brownsville, TN) the Lynx beat Austin College 48-17 in Rhodes' homecoming contest.  It marks the first Rhodes victory over Austin since 2007 and Head Coach Dan Gritti's first conference win.  With the win, Rhodes has won 3 of their last 4 and moved to 3-3 on the season and 1-2 in the SCAC.

It took Rhodes less than 2 minutes to open the scoring on a 54 yard touchdown pass from Stoots to Sophomore Running Back Dane Wilson(Bartlett, TN).  The quick strike was complimented by Rhodes defense holding Austin to 27 total yards in the first quarter which allowed Rhodes to increase the lead to 10-0 on a 26 yard field goal from Junior Placekicker Lukas Stockhausen(Cologne, Germany).

After a 37 yard field by Austin, Rhodes struck twice in the final 2:10 with a 36 yard touchdown pass from Stoots to Senior Co-Captain Wide Receiver Buddy Legens(Martin, TN).  The Lynx added a 30 yard field goal with 4 seconds left by Stockhausen.  The Field Goal was set up by an interception of a Kangaroo pass by Freshmen Defensive Back Joseph Raby(Smyrna, TN).

After entering half-time up 20-3, Stoots connected on a touchdown pass with leading receiver junior Jack Lartigue(Southaven, MS).  The reception capped Lartigue's 10 catch 173 yard performance and marked him passing 600 yards receiving on the season.

Three minutes later Stoots connected on his final touchdown pass of the day with a 6 yard throw to Legens to put the Lynx up 34-3.  Rhodes' Special Teams got into the scoring act when Junior Defensive Back Brian Walton(Marietta, GA) blocked an Austin punt which Raby picked up and scampered 28 yards for a touchdown to stake Rhodes to a 41-10 lead.

The Lynx final score of the game came when Junior QB Tyler Perkins(Arlington, TN) hit Sophomore Wide Receiver Julian Hawkins(Kennesaw, GA) on a 35 yard touchdown pass which marked the first touchdown of Hawkins' collegiate career.

In the 48-17 victory, Rhodes defense held the Kangaroos to 186 yards total offense and were led in tackles by Senior Linebacker Tom Zigtema(Cumming, GA) with 10.
