The women's track & field team will head to Cleveland, OH this coming weekend to compete in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College. The Lynx will be represented by the foursome of senior
Julia Goss (St. Louis, MO), junior
Molly Buck (Austin, TX), and freshmen
Megan Lee (Castro Valley, CA) and
Samantha Specht (St. Petersburg, FL). The quartet will compete in the 4x400m relay, along with Buck running the 100m and 400m hurdles.
Competing this past weekend at the North Central College Gregory Invitational in Naperville, IL the women solidified their spots to nationals in grand fashion. Running a time of 3:51.66, the women broke the 4x400m relay school record by nearly two seconds. The time posted late Friday night currently ranks them 12th out of the 15 qualified relays at the national meet.
Molly Buck had a great day individually on the track as she set new personal and school records in the 100m and 400m hurdles. Her time of 14.83 currently ranks her 17th out of 18 competitors in the 100m hurdles, and her time of 62.68 in the 400m hurdles currently ranks her 7th out of 19 competitors.
The women will head to Cleveland on Wednesday morning and begin competition on Thursday. First up will be prelims in the 400m hurdles for Buck at 5:00 p.m. (EST) followed by prelims in the 4x400m relay at 7:10 p.m. On Friday, Buck will compete in the prelims of the 100m hurdles at 3:30 p.m. .
