NAPERVILLE, IL – At the Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central College, junior
Andrew Maryott (East Dennis, MA) and sophomore
Evan Nelsen (Greenville, SC) represented the Rhodes College Track & Field team, giving the program much to be proud of.
Maryott competed in the hammer throw and discus, posting two solid performances in each. In the hammer, his top distance of 156'9” (47.78m) placed him eleventh out of thirty-four competitors. In the discus, he had a very consistent series of throws, his best notching him a fourteenth place finish with a distance of 149'0” (45.42m).
In the 1,500m, Nelsen had his best performance of the season, running 4:05.62 in what was a very competitive race as the top nine finishers all dipped below the national qualification standard. Next week Nelsen will look to lower his time even further as he returns to North Central College for the Gregory Track & Field Invitational.
