Suwanee, Georgia ~ Senior men's basketball player, Reid Hamilton, was named the SCAC's Player of the Week for his outstanding effort this weekend. Hamilton, a 6'6 forward from Birmingham, Alabama, averaged 19 points and 6 rebounds in Rhodes' two victories over conference opponents, Millsaps and Hendrix.
Against Millsaps, Reid posted 12 points and 5 rebounds against Millsaps College in a defensive battle. Reid also dished out three assists and was a defensive presence recording two blocks. For the game he connected on 4 of his 9 shots. Against Hendrix, Reid would score a career high 26 points on 11 of 18 shooting and grabbed 7 rebounds.
“Reid missed the first half of the 2008-2009 season due to an injury and has worked hard to be where he is today. He has overcome some hardships and is one of our go to guys this season. He is a player that is difficult to guard because he can score in a variety of ways both inside and out. More importantly, he is a leader for our program,” stated head coach Herb Hilgeman.
On the season Reid is averaging a team high 15.1 points per game. He is shooting 49.3% from the field and 42.4% from beyond the arc. He is also averaging 5.9 rebounds per contest.
