Little rain doesn't bother these Lynx!!!

The 2nd day of the Santa Rosa Beach Classic hosted by Huntingdon College (AL) was canceled due to heavy rains.  As you can see from the picture of the team, the 18th green was flooded, as was most of the golf course.

Allie Bankart's first round score of 82 was good enough for a 4th place individual finish, her second consecutive top 10 finish as a freshman.  The Lynx opening round team score of 471 placed the team in 4th place out of seven teams.  Spring Hill won the the team title.  All American Stephanie Mingos did not play due to a nagging back injury.

"Stephanie shot 74 in the first round of this tournament last year.  If Stephanie would have shot in the 75-80 range in round one, our team score would have been in the 340-345 range, which would have been a ten shot improvement over our first round score in 2008," said Coach Clary.  "With Allie Bankart being capable of shooting 75-80, our 2009-10 team is stronger than our 2008-09 team.  Christy Siegel shot 41-47 for an 88 yesterday on a tough golf course.  She shot 95 in the opening round in this tournament last year, so Christy's game is coming around."

The Lynx will host the Rhodes Classic at Tunica National Golf Course (MS) on October 19-20.
"I"m looking for Nicole, Christy and Maddie to shoot in the 80-85 range at our tournament.  Allie should go under 80.  We need to have a great two weeks of practice to finish out our fall season on a strong note." said Coach Clary.
