Sophomore Shay Womack fired rounds of 69-74 = 143 to finish tied for sixth at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational. This is Shay's second consecutive top 10 finish as he finished 3rd at the Birmingham Southern Shootout . Sophomore Bill Bazzel finished tied for 14th with scores of 70-76 = 146.
Josh Schrader of Methodist University won medalist honors with scores of 67-69 = 136. Methodist also won the team title with scores of 290-283 = 573
Rhodes shot 301-305 = 606 and finished 10th in the sixteen team field, which featured 8 out of top 10 NCAA Division III teams.
“Although we finished 10th at this event, we had a very successful fall season,” said Lynx head coach Bill Cochran. “One of our goals this year was to win one of these big tournaments, and we accomplished that goal with our win at the Transylvania Fall Invitational. We also finished 3rd out of 20 teams at our Rhodes Fall Classic and 3rd out of 12 teams in the Birmingham Southern Fall Shootout. “
“Now we need to start getting prepared for the spring season. We are playing a tough, but exciting, schedule with the goal of participating in the NCAA Championship being played June 11th -14th at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, PA.”
