Women's Soccer Repeats as NSCAA Team Academic Award Winner

The Rhodes women's soccer team was recognized as a 2008 Team Academic Award winner by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the 4th year in a row. Rhodes posted a 3.36 team GPA for the 2007-2008 academic year to earn the award.

A total of 363 soccer teams (103 men, 260 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2007-08 academic year.   Rhodes is one of only  59 schools that had both their men's and women's programs recognized. The Rhodes women have won the award 7 times since it's inception.

Athletes of the Week
Becca Clarin
Women's Basketball
The Student Athlete Advisory Committee has named Senior Becca Clarin as the Student Athlete of the Month for January.
 
Becca has proven to be a versatile player for the Lynx this season, doing whatever the team needs in order to win. She  led the Lynx in rebounding against Oglethorpe (1/3/10), Colorado College (1/17/10), and Millsaps (1/22/10) , and led the Lynx in scoring against Austin College On January 15, scoring 14 points on 4 of 7 shooting from behind the arc. 
 
She again led the Lynx in scoring with 15 points against Southwestern on January 29, including a layup with 43 seconds remaining to give Rhodes the lead for good in a 66-62 win. 

She is currently 3rd in the SCAC in 3 pointers made with 53,  averages 6.2 rebounds per has recorded 8 blocks and 27 steals in the season.
Reid Hamilton
Men's Basketball
The Student Athlete Advisory Committee has named Senior Reid Hamilton as the Student Athlete of the Month for January.
 
Reid started the new year off right, with a 13 point and 9 rebound performance in a 67-42 New Years’ Day victory over arch-rival Sewanee, and followed that up on January 3 with a double-double, notching 10 points and 12 rebounds against Oglethorpe. 
 
On January 17, he netted 20 points against Colorado College, and scored 26 in a 93-80 win over Hendrix. 
 
Hamilton is currently 4th in the SCAC in scoring at 14.7 points per game, and 8th in rebounding at 6.4 rebounds per game.
